The Position

The Families MatterProgram is an evidence based HIV Prevention intervention for parents, /guardians of adolescents girls and young women. The program aims to enhance protective parenting practices that are associated with reduced sexual risks among adolescents and promote parent- child communication about sexuality and sexual reduction.

Pact Zambia will be  recruiting 86 Program Facilitators to implement the Families Matter program in 8 districts namely;

Lusaka x 22Kabwe x 8, Ndola x 12Kapiri Mposhi x 8Kitwe x 8, Chingola x 8Livingstone x 8 and Chipata x 12.

Department Overview
Pact, a non-profit organization based in Washington, DC, is implementing a USAID-funded project, USAID/Z-CHPP, aimed at reducing new HIV infections by increasing adoption of high impact HIV services and protective behaviors among at-risk populations, using evidence-based and locally owned solutions. Pact has an immediate need for highly competent country citizens to fill the following position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collecting demographic data and screening for the suitable participants for the Families Matter! Program
  • Facilitating the activities in the Families Matter! Program manual
  • Achieve agreed target of participants
  • Managing discussions on sensitive topics in an inclusive manner
  • Modeling skills and behaviour
  • Answering questions and recording feedback from participants
  • Using tools (flip charts, Audio and Visual aids equipment) during facilitation
  • Conducting role plays and offering feedback
  • Communicating on one on one with participants
  • Referring participants to other service providers as needed by participants
  • Completion of all required paper works
  • Writing and submitting reports
  • Carry out any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Basic Requirements

  • Minimum education level of a Post-Secondary Certificate or Diploma in Social Work, Project Management, Social Science or any related filed
  • Excellent Facilitation skills
  • Prior Experience in implementing Behavioural interventions
  • Knowledge of evidence based programming
  • Demonstrated Leadership skills
  • Commitment and passion for working with families to support them in raising healthy children
  • Knowledge of Adolescent sexual behaviour
  • Fluency in English and any locally (District) spoken language.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability and willingness to lead Discussions about sexual issues
  • Good planning and time management skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to problem-solve
  • Ability to conduct and critique role-plays and offer feedback
  • Ability to multitask with ease, adapting to frequently changing priorities
