Dr. Ebenezer Owusu Appointed Member of the Africa Leadership Council of Special Olympics

Dr. Ebenezer Owusu has been appointed to serve as a member of the Africa Leadership Council (ALC) of Special Olympics. Special Olympics is a global movement with presence in about 200 countries and a mission to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Through programming in sports, health, education and community building, Special Olympics is tackling the inactivity, stigma, isolation, and injustice that people with intellectual disabilities face.

While congratulating Dr. Ebenezer Owusu in an appointment letter, the President and Managing Director of Special Olympics (Africa Region), Mr. Charles Nyambe expressed optimism that Africa Region athletes, volunteers and staff would benefit immensely from his expertise.

Dr. Ebenezer Owusu is a Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department of Plant and Environmental Biology, School of Biological Sciences, College of Basic and Applied Sciences.
