Maryland Global Initiatives Corporation

The Centre for International Health, Education, and Biosecurity (CIHEB) of the University Maryland Baltimore (UMB), together with the Centre for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia (CIDRZ), are implementing the Zambia-HIV Epidemic Control for Key Populations (Z-CHECK) grant. The ZCHECK project is partnering with the Government of the Republic of Zambia and community based civil society to implement community-based combination HIV prevention interventions, ensure all people living with HIV (PLHIV) know their status, HIV positive people are linked to treatment and achieve viral suppression so that Zambia achieves HIV epidemic control.

The project targets priority and key populations and is seeking candidates for the position below. Candidates meeting the following criteria are encouraged to apply.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist in the collection of accurate monitoring reports from the sites/DMO (monthly, quarterly, annually) on all required indicators and datasets
  • Data capture, run validation and verification checks
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, Semi-Annual and Annual Performance Reports as required
  • Provide technical assistance to promote monitoring and evaluation strategies to facilitate data usage and enhance, collaborate with DMO/QI teams in the identification of data needs and the collection, analysis and communication of appropriate information
  • Work with the QI teams to analyze findings, treatment outcomes, and supportive supervision data in order to develop recommendations for strengthening program performance
  • Provide sites support to comply with data quality standards and strategies
  • Assist in an quarterly evaluations of the patient management and monitoring activities
  • Participate in health facility assessments, data quality activities, surveys and site visits
  • Mentor health workers, data assistants and community liaison offers in data collection, aggregation, analysis and reporting
  • Participate in implementation of activities in work plans, meetings for shared experiences and trainings as required
  • Other responsibilities as needed

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Studies or  ICT
  • Comptia A+ or CISCO II Certification
  • At least 2 year in project management Experience
  • At least experienced with mobile technologies
  • Proven  experience working DHIS2 back end support & configurations
  • At least 2 years of practical data use/M&E experience
  • Experience working with SmartCare as a direct user and capable of running scripts (preferably)
  • Excellent data base management skills (SQL, Access, and Excel)
  • Have a good understanding of the health systems
  • Demonstrated ability to transfer knowledge through formal and informal training
